They are pretty much just like a flat tappet, but they have a roller on the bottom.

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

Push rod.

Like I said, just like a flat tappet, but with a roller on the bottom.

heres a good picture that kinda explains them. the top side looks the same or very similar to a normal hydraulic lifter if im not mistaken (someone verify this). are you asking about the little link that connects 2 of them together?

That's a guide to keep them oriented correctly, so that the roller is parallel with the cam lobe.

For what engine? (specifically)

By "rods" do you mean the links? There are diffrent kinds too some are made onto the lifters some not.

At any rate and reguardless of what you mean by "rods" the answer to your question is "no - that isn't all you need".

This might answer some of your questions:

You mean "pushrods"?

It's a lot easier if you use the correct terminology, rather than some shorthand crap like "dizzy".

No one can accurately answer his question until he tells us (again SPECIFICALLY) what he is working on, even if it is a small block it matters if it is a roller ready block or not.

Seriously, I hate to see someone not get the help they need but I have to assume someone who is not responding to request for information from them in order to properly respond to their question, just really does not want the help.
