Used suspension parts
I'm taking the '67 F350's stripped frame to the scrapyard this week. I left the front suspension on it. Does anybody think its worth the trouble to remove and keep the suspension parts, and if so, which ones?

The steering box is a newer power unit, I've got that off already. How the heck do I get those joints apart for the tie rods and center link?

Either with a pickle-fork or a tie-rod separator:FLATBEDFORD wrote:The steering box is a newer power unit, I've got that off already. How the heck do I get those joints apart for the tie rods and center link?

re: Used suspension parts
as dcbullet aid hit the casting, with a big hammer, after removing the nut.
but never the threaded part. its not worth damaging the threads.
if you strike the side of the joint it will pop the joint every time.
and never use pickle forks on good joints, they are for worn parts removal only, they do more harm than good. they damage the boots, and crush the sides of the joints.

Flatbed,
Save the old springs too!
They make good "kiddie rides" for the kids or grandkids! Used to see them all over in parks attached to the ground with animal figurines attached to them. I also made my kids a "see-saw" out of old front spindles!
Redneck ingenuity is a scary thing!
