Howdy from Houston
Hey all,
I was sent over here from www.fullsizebronco.com. I am a bronco owner and love old Ford trucks
I just picked up a 1970 Ranger Custom Camper Special yesterday. It has the factory dual tanks, as well as the built in toolbox in the bed. It has alot of rust, but It has a strong 390 (or so I was told) with the 4 speed / granny gear transmission. Almost all original. It has a new clutch, carb and custom (ghey) side exhaust pipes (which will be removed when we redo the exhaust), but everything else is supposed to be the way it came from the factory. I drove it 70 miles yesterday at 60 - 65 mph without a problem. I am looking to do some restoration to the truck as well as some upgrades.
Upgrades include:
disk brakes on front
power steering
Restore/ Repair
Tuneup
Oil leaks
Instrument cluster
Steering wheel/ horn
interior door handles
new windshield
exhaust
brake lights (they cut out randomly when brake pedal is pressed)
Body cancer (when time and finances allow)
Are there any other upgrades that should be done to make the truck a better truck? Anything I should keep in mind while working on this truck? I want to keep it as stock as possible as I love the looks and ride of this truck. It glides down the road instead of jarring you about. I love the truck and the power of the engine. Keep in mind that this will be a working truck as well. We will be using it to tow and haul stuff. I will post pictures of the truck later after I take them when I get home tonight.
Thanks in advance,
D4klutz
