Has anyone thought about trying to install trailing arms in the rear? it seems like it could be an easy install if the right parts were fabricated. what do you guys think. I was think it would make it a lot easier to lower my truck, and make drive like it were on rails.
any input would be excellent.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

re: trailing arms
I believe a 4 link setup could be fabricated and installed without much difficulty.
Cost to get the parts and do the work might be another story. Any maintenance cost savings probably would be eaten up in the assembly cost. The Ford setup needs very little maintenance. You just need to decide what you want to do with your truck. And what you want to have when you finished your project. If you want the truck slammed, the four link would be one way to accomplish the trick. Geometry could be made to match the stock spring setup. Currently, the rear axle rotates around the front leaf spring connection. A spring accomplishes the same thing whether it is a leaf, coil, or torsion or some other variation or highbred system. And the same with a shock. All the other components such as brakes, exhaust, fuel system would have to be considered to make sure you didn't create any problems along the way and the whole thing is safe. Personally, this type of project would not be something I would not want to do. ![2 cents :2cents:](./images/smilies/icon_2cents.gif)

re: trailing arms
Given the geometry issues and safety concerns, I would have this job done by a professional suspension shop.
