What's the correct name for this part?

Post by mlheppl »

I know that the 2wd's have a rag joint, but my highboy has this part instead. What is the correct or even common name for this part?

That's what I did. replaced it with a regular u-joint. For some reason it was really bugging me that I didn't know what it was called. :dk:

You can't replace it with a regular U-joint. If you do any bump will blow the bearings out of your steering column. There needs to be a slip or a rag joint in the shaft.

Will installing a u-joint with a vibration dampner work?
