This weekend I was sandblasting some of my disc brake parts and noticed that fine grooves had been machined in to the four pads that (I think) contact the spindle--here's a photo of the pads on the part I'm talking about:
My sandblaster took the fine grooves right off of several of the pads before I realized that they may have been machined on there for a reason!
Does anybody know if the fine, grooved texture on those four pads is important to retain? Must I take my part to the machine shop now to have them re-textured?
Thanks very much!
