Post by carnuck »

Not new to forums, but I am sort of new here (I've been jumping in on some posts)

here's a back corner view of my rig (currently getting a 400 installed. Need some nice weather and better health to finish the job)

I just need weather and better physical conditions to finish it (pic was taken before we set the motor in) I need to slide the C6 back and drop the 400 onto the mounts, then slide the trans ahead again.
My son was helping me, but had to go back to work in Canada before we got finished.

I picked up a dumptruck today for parts, so my F350 will become a dump truck (unless I can salvage the IH, which I don't hold much hope for. The 6.9 diesel has well over 500,000 miles and quit with a thud)

I'm getting a dumptruck for parts too.

Problem is, I think I'm gonna fix and keep it instead of putting the hoist under my flatbed.

Found the problem with the IH. It wasn't diesel, but the tank filler said "diesel fuel" so that's what they put in there. 345 gas with 5 speed O/D (Rockwell?) 5 ton with 2 speed rear axle. 17 foot bed and only 17,000 miles on it (used only on the farm)
Guess I'll fix it and use it for now, but The Wife says I have to chose between it and the Ford due to space limitations (hers, not mine) Guess which I'll keep and which I'll sell?
