Hi guys, just stopping in to say hi and show off my "new" truck. It's a 71 sport custom with a 390, 4 brl holly carb, auto transmission and a slightly warmed up cam. Bought it off a friend of mine for $300, and his grandfather was the original owner, so i'm technically the 3rd owner. It has 78,000 miles on it, although the engine and tranny have less then 20k on them.
I'm going to be asking a lot of stupid questions, as this is the 1st ford truck i've done. All my previous resto experience is in late 60's Mopars.
included a few photos,

Its riddled with rust, but thats nothing new to me. My Barracuda sat for 20 years when I got it.
One thing that i'm not looking forward to is replacing the floors and cab mounts. The drive train is very sound, which is nice. the 390 runs like a top.
Oh, by the way, i'm from Tampa, Florida.

yeah rust is a pain in the bottom. I wished ford would have coated all the metal. I know they didn't expect these trucks to still be out there 40 years later.

Welcome from the Texas sector
I'd say money well spent. are those Cragar "SS"'s with spinner caps . Heck those are worth the 3 bills(and a tight motor to boot ). I had SS's on my '72 . I decided to go with the Weld's (even before I fell into the excellent deall from cobraf-100) .I think Cragars do an excellent job of setting off any vehicle.

Welcome! Wow Cragars w/ spinners, haven't seen those in awhile. That's a tuff lug pattern to find, don't get rid of them.
