looking to buy AR Torq Thrust D Wheels for 68 F100

Post by wjmanson »

Has anyone used these rimes for their truck and, if so, is the bolt pattern 5X5 or 5X5.5...what is the difference in these numbers? I am looking to purchase 15 X 7 wheels and trying to figure out which ones are correct.

Many thanks.

68 F100 Ranger in 100% original condition about to go through a restoration.

Haven't bought those but you need 5x5.5, the 5 is the # of bolt holes and the 5.5 is the bolt circle diameter.

It somehow relates to the hub of the drum inside the rear of the wheel; center bore may be the same. The AR Torq Thrust wheels I need with the necessaary bolt pattern have a 'Taper Bore' of 3.420, it says nothing of the unit of measurement...

Thanks for your help.

Oh that may be the size of the axle hub in the center.

The tapered bore is 3.420 on the wheel and the hub is JUST under it and might need to be turned down a little. I brought my hub up to a wheel shop one day and they measured it for me and it was 3.410 or something around there and they said that it would work but BARELY made it. Another wheel shop said they wont work but they never tried it before. I have seen these wheels on these trucks a few times so I know it works and I will be getting the Torq Thrust II's with the grey centers and polished outter (they are called CL205's).
