When I bought my '67 F350 it had the key tumbler removed. A screw driver was needed to start it up. Here's what it looks like.
I was cleaning all of the junk off the floor (old seat belts, box of manifolt gaskets, new e-brake cable for a VW rabbit, gloves, etc) and look what I found!
I though to myself,"Awesome, now I wish I had the key." Well, look what I found next!!
Maybe this after noon I'll put it back in. A little cold out there right now. I wonder why it was removed.

They took the lock cylinder out because they thought the switch went bad. Instead they found a rats nest wiring harness and had to wire in the universal turn signal currently mounted on the column. Then they lost the key cylinder while starting it with a screwdriver. Then they lost the key while looking for the lock cylinder.
I've seen a thread on how to take the barrel out, I just don't know how to line it up to go back in. Does anyone know what to line up? I quickly tried to line it up and couldn't. I don't want to mess anything up by forcing it.

Use the screwdriver to turn the switch to the accessory position. (all the way to the left)
Then, with the key in the lock cylinder line up the square slot in the switch with the square notch on the cylinder and push/wiggle/twist until it clicks into place.
The battery is dead. I have been taking the one out of the '71 to move it around. The key did seem to work. I was able to turn it to the start possision and to the acc. possion as well.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~
