Conponents

Post by bones187 »

Can someone help me out on Id's of the electrical Components in this 1967 , 460 ,n0 air , auto , and the location of them also.
I have what looks like a power filter on the back of the Instrument cluster , and no way to get name or both ends of the connection .
Im a sparky for a living and this diagram is really put together by some " design guru " that had one to many at lunch that day.

Thanks for the help ![img]

Hi! and :wel: to the site!

that should be the instrument voltage reducer your looking at.
here is a breakdown on the panel.

check the links at the top of the page for the tech and tutorial page, then scroll to the bottom for wiring diagrams.

That IPVR reduces the 12V down to a 5V pulse for the gauges. Do a search here for 'IPVR' and you'll see it's been discussed many times. :D

To be technical :D , it puts out 12 volt pulses that averages out to 5 volts over time.

As an example, a 12 volt square wave with a 50% duty cycle would be equivalent to 6 volts.
