The ignition module with three pigtails is the kind which features a "cranking retard" mode (which is ideal for cars equipped with hot camshafts that require a lot of ignition advance at idle), but I think I'd suggest just using the blue-grommet two-plug module.
I'm really not sure what the differences are in the parts you've listed though.

Thanks for the quick reply and the information link. I've gone over it pretty good and have a better understanding of the complete system. I think I might be missing a cable adaptor or harness from distributor to coil to module. Does that seem right?
If I get the module, coil, cap w/converter & rotor from the same year ie '78 for the Dura-II and the dissy for a '75 F250 390 will i have all i need?
Thanks again and I really appreciate your efforts here with this site. I did find you from another Ford Truck site and have since reduced my visits to that site dramatically. The information is real hard to find and the answers are sometimes very slow in coming.

I think the price diffrence is in new and remanufactured (rebuilt) diffrences. I was on there napa online parts catalog also and noticed the exact same thing.

The ignition parts with the "sb" after the # are the price line Napa stuff....we used to refer to them as Sh____ Brand Spend the money & get the good stuff, you only have to buy it once.
