Shift Linkage For C4 Column Shift

I'm trying to get my old 69 back on the road after a long slumber. My hurdle now is connecting the C4 to the column shift. Connecting it directly makes the gears in reverse and puts it in a bind. I need to know how to find the piece I'm missing. I've seen them before that pivot the column shift rod input and change it from a push to pull or vice versa. Is there a thread someone could point me to or pics, diagram, part number? Help appreciated.
