There is a very sweet older couple I work for(among the many), who had just returned from an area of Seattle known for the high crime rate and a recent car-jacking. These two look the part of perhaps a naive and trusting pair of decent folks, driving around in a VW Rabbit convertible. I asked if they had any trouble while there..."Oh, not really!!!" Husband laughed heartily, reached in his back pocket and produced a compact handgun.
