Hey guys,
Got a new project a little while ago ('70 F100 SWB 2WD); finally got an account here so I can ask for your guidance.
With the back of the frame level, and the same tires on the front, filled to the same pressure, my driver's side front frame horn sits about 3/4" higher than passenger's. I took the coils out, and driver's was made of a thinner diameter metal, and it was about 3/4" longer than the passenger's. Swapped them, and now the frame sits level... fantastic! Now I'm thinking my frame isn't off, and I may not need to pay for 2 tows and a twist at a body shop. Are the coil springs in a '70 F100 different on each side? I have heard mixed answers, so I'm hoping you guys can help.
Thanks
Brian
*Edit* Sorry, just found another article that has an answer to this... not sure how to delete this post now.

Yeah, thats the one I found right after I posted. So looks like they should be different, and mine are just as he describes. Thanks!

I know you may have found the answer but I can definitely say that the new springs I bought over here in Aus were clearly marked drivers & passengers side with the drivers side being about an inch longer

Thanks Aussie, yeah that seems to be the issue. I just wasn't sure because none of the catalogues I've seen say there are a left and right spring. They just say a pair of springs. I'm so glad I dont need to get my frame straightened!
