I am changing to disc brakes on a 69 truck and I am not ready to go to power steering yet, I am doing a little at a time. The problem I am having is I haven`t found a pitman arm for my manual steering for the newer style tie rods and drag link. I have found a lot of arms for power steering but none for manual. Also I have read i will have to change the pro. valve also and can I use the same master cylinder? Will i need a brake booster for the disc brakes?
I looked through a lot of the forum pages and found a lot of info but not any pertaining to the pitman arm ordeal. Can anyone help on this?
Thanks from Seminary, MS

Re: pitman arm
for the pitman arm just use your old steerign linkage until you go to power steering. you can use the same master. you have to remove the residual valve in the master where the brake lines goes in at. they did make manual disc brakes. so you dont have to have a booster. but if the donor truck had one. i would get the one off of it and use it.

Re: pitman arm
I tried that but i could not get the old tie rod ends to go through the hole in the spindle far enough to get the cotter pin through the nut. I was scared I was going to crack the spindle hole. Thanks for the info. Any other help would come with a big thanks.

Another question, is there a 72 up manual steering pitman arm available? All I cam seem to find is power steering. Did Ford go to all power steering after 72?
