Identify Steering Box

Post by 68SPECIAL »

I have a ford power steering box. The part number on the main housing is C9TR 8550. On the input shaft housing it has 9ES, C7AR and DIF cast in different places. I want to rebuild it but want to make sure i purchase the correct kit. I disassmebled it and it does not have a bearing race for the sector shaft on the lower end of the box? (many of the kits i have looked at show a bearing race in the rebuild kit in the picture but that may not be the right picture???)I believe its from a mid to late 70's truck but am not for sure. The plate where the aduster screw is: C6AR 3580 A-2 is cast on the outside of that piece. There was no tag on the box when I got it. Any ideas?
