frame straightening
as most know i wrecked my daily driver sunday. and i go tthe bed off and thought the frame was ebnt. well it is bent for sure. it is bent downward. it is a channel frame similar to our but ligthter weight and not as thick of material. this bend that i can see better now. but not completely yet. is right at where the frotn spring perch is for the leaf spring on the passenger side. what i am thinking is if it can be straightened. the way to do it is similar to bending and i beam. with two clamps and a bar under a jack. then you raise the jack to push the frame back up. does that sound liek how it is done? the one thing i am not sure of is how much pressure it would take to unbend this frame. probably more than what a simple bottle jack would have in it.

Re: frame straightening
Most body shops have a frame rack or chain pots in the floor.
they anchor the frame down and jack up or pull as needed.
You could try it your way ,you'll need at least a 10 ton jack.

Re: frame straightening
When I first got my truck the right frame-rail was right behind the cab. I did something similar to what you suggest to straighten the frame on my bump. I had a piece of railroad track (about 8' maybe) and tied each end to the frame with a chain (so that the RR track was hanging from the frame) and put a jack in the middle and jacked up. I don't remember how big of a jack I used but it worked. My frame is not prefect but much better than it was. I don't think it was bent a severely as yours but try it, you might git it.fordman wrote: ...and i beam. with two clamps and a bar under a jack. then you raise the jack to push the frame back up. does that sound liek how it is done? the one thing i am not sure of is how much pressure it would take to unbend this frame. probably more than what a simple bottle jack would have in it.
