Baby Moons on "Outie" Wheels

Post by 2bocat »

I'm trying to finish a '66 F-100 with 15" wheels with the hubcap "nubs" on the outside of the ring (i.e., "outies" - like they used from late '66 through who knows - into the '80s anyway). Prior to '66 the wheels had nubs on the inside (innies) and there are numerous hubcaps, both stock and reproductions available for this smaller size cap. I want to put plane jane baby moons on this truck and cannot find baby moons anywhere for these wheels. The outie truck wheels require a hubcap with an inside diameter of 10-1/4". Cars used a 10-1/8" ID cap. The 10-1/8" caps will not fit on the truck wheels, or at least if you do manage to bash the things on, they pop off shortly thereafter. Can anybody out there point me to a source for 10-1/4" ID baby moons...I've exhausted everything I can think of. I still can't figure out why this is so difficult either!
