diy frame for truck

Post by carpenter547 »

hi quick intro i am a guy who will think up the wierdest load of crap ask why not and go from there with what is possible and what will work.

in the spirit of all possible ideas will be considered. is it possible to just grab some tubes and fab up a new frame? i mean as long as it is the right dimensions and welded properly i would work right?

this would be going on a work truck that will be carrying max or over max load quite often so it would need to be at least as strong as a proper stock frame. so if that isn't possible then just forget it. but if any one has done this and it worked could you share some info?

i am sure it could be done if you knew how you wanted to build it to hold up as much weigh as you wanted it to hold up.

My question is why? Do you have a specific plan or idea for building a frame? If it is only going to be as strong as a stock frame then???? Do you have an idea for a suspension that you would rather have or ? All that being said I agree with Fordman, you could build as strong as you would want.

Sure you could but I would probably start with a stock frame and modify it to suit my needs.
