radius arm and I beam bushings
These bushings were severely deteriorated on my 68 2WD. I searched this forum and got a lot of useful info. I soaked the radius arm and i beam nuts with PB Blaster for three days before I got them loose. Using a saw all for the I beam bushing removal worked well. Had to grind the I beam some to get the new bushing in. I encountered a problem when I tried to reassembly everything-I just couldn't get the i beam and radius arm to simultaneously line up in their respected mounts. When pulling the radius arm out forward to clear its mount it would swing away out wards from the mount After pulling/pushing/ tugging for longer than I would like to admit I realized that my radius arm was frozen on the I beam and if I could get it to pivot a little everything would line up. After freeing the arm everything popped into place fairly quickly. Had to remove the spring to get at the radius arm nut on the I beam. Hope this helps someone that didn't see the obvious like me.
