I seem to have forgotten how my "little 302's" power steering pump mounts to the water pump?
It's the CRS kicking in...
My bracket just don't seem to line up with any of the water pump bolt holes, (and I confirmed it is the 302 bracket).
I please need a decent picture of the pump bracket-how it bolts to the water pump on the 302 engine!

Craig, thank you so much! I still don't see why my bracket isn't bolting up to my water pump.
My bracket(s) looks the same as the picture above on the P.S. pump and the water pump bracket as well. I've got a used (yeah right...on a new engine) water pump that came off of my 79's 302 but the water pump bracket just don't seem to line up like in the picture?
I'll try to get a picture tomorrow of the water pump.
I'll gladly welcome any other pictures please!

maybe there are slightly different pumps and brackets. that vary from year to year. soemtiem i do searches on ebay and that will give you clues to certain correct and non correct parts that will and wont work together.
Sparkz thanks man, between what you and Fordman posted i should be able to figure it out!
Gotta' go for provisions this morning and then push mow the grass then maybe I can get some work done on the truck.

Good luck Jeff. If you need more, I'm always looking for an excuse to play with ym pamera, and can grab a few more. Luckily today is just a regular shift, so I should be able to later on.
Guys,
I still don't see it unless it's my water pump, (I tried again today to mount the bracket I know is for a 302/no luck).
Here's my water pump:
Another angle:
Gotta' change the water pump?

ok measure the two holes on the bracket center to center then measure the bolt holes in the pump center to center. i have a 351m water pump on a engine the ps bracket mounting holes are about 3 5/16 apart. however the 351m pump bracket is similar looking to the Fe pump bracket. here is a picture of a Green 351m/400 bracket and water pump. and also a picture of a ford blue 351 c water pump. well that 351c pic is a bad picture. you cant see what we want to see.
what i am gettign at or thinking if the bracket is correct. is it possible that you have a the wrong pump? i dotn think so. but with my measurements and yours maybe something can be figured out. i do know that my 351w has the fe style bracket on it too. i dont have any pictures of it. if it isnt raining tomorrow i will get pics and measurements of it. i think i need to change the pump anyway.

well i done some looking on autozone and done a parts number match. and the 351w and cleveland as well as 302 seem to share the same part number . the 351m has a different part number. see what you can figure out with the pump boss measurements.
Craig thanks again man!
I'll try to get the pump boss measurements later today and post.
I confirmed the bracket's for the 302 with pictures from the net, (I'll also get a picture of the bracket as well).
I got rid of my FE P.S. bracket cause I just knew it would not work on the 302?
Is that 3 and 5/16" a centerline bolt hole measurement?
