correct 5 spoke mag hubcap for a 72

Post by jamesrtw »

Does anyone have a pic off the correct 5 spoke mag hub cap for a 72? I'm really starting to like the looks of that type of hubcap. :D I was looking at the Fordtruck/Van Hubcap Identification page http://www.fordification.com/tech/hubcapID.htm. It says that the Hollander id # is a 620 for that year. The only picture shown as a 5 spoke mag one is this pic which says it is a hollander #746: Image

I tried clicking on the link provided to the Hollander ID # 620 but it didn't work. :hmm: Anybody got a pic of it or can describe the differences.. :help: Much appreciated!!

Does anybody have this type hubcap http://www.fordification.com/tech/image ... 1130-A.jpg who could tell me if the center is plastic. I found one on ebay I think I am going to buy, but I was curious if the center 5 spoke mag part(not the trim ring) portion is aluminum on these?

I already have a few of these http://www.fordification.com/tech/image ... 1130-F.jpg at home that are beat up and I know for sure they are plastic in the middle and can't be polished up. If they are all plastic in the middle I'll just build a useable set from the ones I have.

The ones that came on my 70 were metal.

I'm not sure when the change was made to plastic centers.

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

Thank you sir! I thought all of those suckers were the same till I started researching them. Amazing the # of different variations of something simple like a hubcap.

Peace out my friends!
