what is the difference between the dana 44 6cf and the dana 60?

in general the d44 is a weaker axle than the d60. that is all i know.

Yeah, that's because no single cab highboy ever came with a 60. Seriously, I've owned 30+ 67-79 fords and I've had 5 pre-79 60 front ends in my shop. The NW is the 4x4 capital of the world and we don't see pre-79 60's much anymore.

The 44 is fine for just about everything, get a 60 when you break the 44. I got mine to pad my ego, never broke a 44 part one on pavement.
