Post by 07dually »

I have a question in regards to the gear box on the power steering. If the valve is sticking would that cause the steering wheel to always turn back to the right?
put in a new kit from Discount steering and so far nothing but problems, first the pump they sent me was junk so now a new pump from them and it works but will always pull the wheel back to the right :x

Thanks in advance

are the hoses hooks up correctly?
The large fitting on the box closest to the firewall should be the return line hooked to the bottom of the pump.
The smaller fitting should be you pressure line hooked the the center of the pump.

I don't mean to highjack this thread but I also would love to figure it out. My truck did that, (turned all by itself when parked) and I took the box apart and installed a shim in there. If I had a exploded view of a box I think I could show you but it's been a long time. It still pulls to the right when I'm driving but not as much.

Thanks fordman,
I don't know what all the parts are called but I'll look it over and see if I remember what I did and hopefully get to the bottom of my problem.
