16.5 x 9.75 rims what tires

I'm not smart enough to answer this simple question myself.

Guy is selling AE Eagle Alloy 058 8 bolt truck rims 16.5" x 9.75" 8 bolt for $200. http://www.aewheel.com/eagle_alloy_wheels.cfm?id=23
(still waiting to find out if they are 8 x 6.5")

I have 8.75" x 16.5" rims and tires on the truck now. So are my tires reusable on these rims? (I was thinking "no"). But I have been challenged to find 9.75" x 16.5" tires. 9.5" yes, but not 9.75". If I can't reuse mine, what should I buy?

I think you are confusing rim size with tire size. A 9.50X16.5 tire is not designed to fit a 9.50X16.5 rim. In this case the two numbers are apples and oranges. The first question I would ask is do you really have 8.75X16.5 rims AND tires now? If so it would be very unusual. 9.75 wide rims are the biggest "normal" size 16.5 rim and came stock on some trucks. I think the smallest tire you can run on a 9.75 rim is 33X12.50-16.5 but it has been a while since I had a chart handy. I am running 35X12.50-16.5's on my 9.75X16.5 rims. Hawkrod

I didn't say no but that is probably the answer. I asked what size tires and rims you really have now? If you 8.75 X 16.5 tires then the widest rim they will fit is 6.75 which is quite a bit shy of the 9.75's you are looking. I looked at a few other tires and I think I was right about a 33 X 12.50 - 16.5 being the smallest tire you can put on a 9.75 X 16.5 fim. Hawkrod
