65 F250 Disk Brakes Question

Post by emc3zach »

Hi all, first time post here. First off, I wanted to say that this is the best Ford site that I have ever seen. The articles are fantastic, lots of pic and very descriptive. So thanks for all of the hard work putting this together. Now here's my question, I have a 65 F250, 4sp and V8, 352 I think, maybe a 360. I have not had it for very long and my goal is to totally upgrade and restore it. My goal is to have it completely done in 6 yrs when I son starts to drive. Anyway I want to start by putting disk brakes on the front. I read with interest all of the articles on disk brake swaps and if I understood correctly, I should be able to swap a disk brake suspension under my 65 without too much trouble, providing a can find one to swap. Now here's my real question, I know the owner of the site has put a lot of effort into sorting things out all the way up to 1979, what's not covered is 80 and up. Does anyone know if a 80's series F250 front end will fit a 65 F250? I'm having difficulty finding 70's F250's in my area (Lower Alabama), but there seems to be a few decent 80" models around. Anybody have any ides on this? Thanks in advance.

No, sorry....the 80-newer trucks won't work. It has to be a 79-older.

That's what I was afraid of. Oh well I keep looking for a 70's era F250 then.
