Re: hanger flip
I got my hangers flipped and installed the shims (4dgrees) and the pinion angle was to great so i took one shim out and when i tried putting my leafs plus shim back on the perch i noticed that the pin doesn't line up from the leaf to the perch. I had to move the axle forward about 1.5 to 2 inches to get it lined up correct to the perch. Now my driveshaft is to long. I must have not mounted my hanger correctly I guess, but when I looked at the pic of one on here it was mounted the same way. I used one of the existing holes like in the pic and went from there. What process did yall do when flipping yours so maybe i can figure out what i did wrong? Any help would be great.

Re: hanger flip
Thanks for all the help, finally got it done. I had a blonde moment and thought I had to much shim but instead didn't have enough. Finished with 8 degrees of shim, thats the most i've heard of any one on here. Pinion angle is right so it must be o.k. Now i will start on the front tomorrow.

Re: hanger flip
What process did you use to know to use 8 degrees? The reason I ask is-I've done the half hanger flip and have 6 degrees in already and still have some drive line vibration.I just used 6 degrees because that's what everyone else was using.I did use a 4 degree first and the vibration was horrible until I installed 2 degrees more and it got better.Maybe I need 2 more degrees? Re: hanger flip
yeah i thought that was alot too. I first started with 2 and worked my way up to 6 and it still wasn't enough so i put 8 in and driveline was straight axle stayed in same location. The only thing I was worried about was my u-bolts not being long enough, but they were just enough. Go for 8 degrees and see if it helps, can't hurt.
