Reassemble steering column

Post by kidd68 »

When I reassemble my three speed steering column, should I put any type of lubricant on the plastic and fiber washers and spacers between the shift levers where they attach to the shift tube? Everything is clean, just some thoughts on lubrication. Thanks. kidd68

No...since those are exposed, if you add any kind of lubricant there, it's just going to attract dust and debris, which will work it's way in-between the bushings and cause hard shifting and/or premature wear. It's more important to simply keep them clean.
