can a rear sway bar from a 78 bronco with a 9" be used on a 70 f100 2wd long bed?
I will be heading to the local yard on saturday and would like to know before I go.
Thank you,
Paul

Yes, frame width will make a difference, since the swaybar links need to connect to the frame...and since the Bronco frame is wider than our trucks, the Bronco rear sway will be too wide too fit.

All, thanks, I was not sure if the frame width was the same.
do any factory rear sway bar applications exist that are bolt on? I have not seen but 1 79f150 with a factory front, and it did not have a rear.
Thanks
Paul

Our trucks never came with a rear sway bar AFAIK, and I'm not sure what else you could find that might work. I seriously doubt anything you find in a junkyard will be a bolt-on, it would take some modification to fit. Whatever you use needs to be roughly four inches narrower than the framerail spacing, so it fits inside the frame by a couple inches on each side. You'll just have to do some measuring and then hit the yards and see what you can come up with.
There are plenty of aftermarket bolt-ons though, which might save you some time and money in the long run.

Re: Rear Sway bar from a 78 Bronco
I have a rear sway bar from a late 70's bronco that I plan to put on a '68 chassis. As stated earlier the bronco frame is wider, but I simply planned on attaching some square tubing to the outside of my frame and attaching the end links to the newly added square tubing. I am not sure if the sway bar will accomplish much, but it can't hurt I guess.
