What year Booster bracket do I need??
I have a 68 that I'm in the middle of doing the brake swap..Got a 79 donor truck and have already swapped the I beams..Went to do the master cylinder and Like a dumb A$$ I guess I left my bracket on the core and already turned in the core. Need to know what year bracket I need. Looks like there are a few different brackets. the truck is a 68 and the booster/master cylinder I got is for a 74 Disc/Drum. Was told the 74 was a better fit than the 79..Rod difference????? Anyone know year I need or have one that I could buy. Damn junkyard wants $90 for the booster/bracket assembly..They do not want to seperate.

If you want a direct replacement for your truck, 68-72 is what you need. 67 was unique to that year.
73 through 77-1/2 will bolt up just fine. You'll probably want one of those since you've done the disc swap, and be sure to get the right master cylinder.
There were, I think, 8 different pedals used during those years (maybe more) so if you can get the pedal when you get the booster, that's the way to do it.
In 74, I think it was, Ford lowered the pedal on trucks equipped with power brakes, so that the pedal was closer to the floor, like in most other vehicles. I've heard a lot of different stories about how they achieved that.
I put a 76 or 77 booster on my 70, and found the pedal to be much lower, just as stated above. That is really nice, since now I don't hit the steering wheel with my knee when I apply the brakes. Now, I can just use the heel-and-toe method.
With the pedal lower to the floor, the brake light switch was too far away from the stop, so my brake lights wouldn't turn off. To resolve this, I bent a piece of 1/8" x 1" x 2" (I think it was about 2", anyway, may have been a little longer) steel at 90 degrees, drilled and tapped it and bolted it under the dash to provide a stop for the light switch. Now, everything works well.
Here's one on ebay right now for a good price: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... MEWAX%3AIT

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???
That's not an oil leak
That's SWEAT from all that HORSEPOWER!!
