acelleration stuble

Post by sacramento_ford »

idles fine, accelrate and reach 15 mph it stumbles and slows when i hit the gas. ,when i git the gas you can heard the pistons chugging away, i wonder if plugs are fouled . i adjusted the air fuel but it only helped a little bit, ,

Well my accelerator pump did that on my carb, I had the same problem. Try that, it idled pretty but once you hit around 10 mph it hit a stumble dead spot. If you played with it then it would go through. Try that, maybe timing. Those are usually the top 2 things it would be. Plugs ehh, most likely not.

Try this, with the engine at an idle push down on the accelerator pump arm. If the engine tries to die then the pump is good.
If is doesn't make any or little difference the pump is shot or out of adjustment.
