King Pin Bushings

Post by furnitureguy-123 »

Should I use kingpins with neoprene bushings or metal bushings? I find most suppliers offer both types. Which are the best to use? Which are easier, last longer? I only want to do this once!!!!

I was warned the nylon bushings don't last long. Local parts house guru swore they do, but I stayed with metal. By the time you get done, if you hammer them out like I did, you'll SURE be positive you don't EVER want to do that again!!!

I'll be doing king pins soon and bought a nylon kit. I wanted something I could do myself without a press and having to ream the bushing to size. But, I don't drive more than 10 miles a day to work and back so if the nylons only last 30k-40k it will be many years before they are worn out.
