Installing brakes
Does anyone have a manual I could look at for replacing rear brakes?

Re: Installing brakes
Most older vehicles had rear drum brakes. The way to change them is pretty much universal. Do a google search it you want something application specific, but this will give you the basic knowledge.

It is very simple actually. If you don't know when the brake hardware was replaced last I would suggest replacing the brake hardware (sold in a kit) and make sure you have your drums turned or buy new ones. If you put new shoes on with old drums they will not stop properly and the new shoes will take the shape of the old drum.
ALSO PLEASE NOTE:
When replacing wornout drum brake shoes, be aware that while the shoes are identical, the linings themselves should be different lengths. You should have one short lining and one long lining for each side. The short lining goes to the front, the long lining to the back. This is not always the case with all vehicles, but it's how it's done with your Ford truck.

Re: Installing brakes
Go to the Autozone website and they have a pretty good tutorial on how to do it with lots of pictures to show which spring goes where and such. Good luck Tom

Re: Installing brakes
Remove the drums from both sides of the vehicle, but only work on one side at a time, leaving the other side intact as a reference, so you can see how it all goes back together.
