F250 suspension under an F150 frame

Post by rabbithunter2005 »

Okay here is the deal i gotta friend who has a jacked up 78 F150. It has around 12inches of lift. He wants to know if it is possible to swap out the F150 front coil suspension for a F250 leaf spring suspension. We are not sure if all the holes on the F150 frame are the same as the F250 frame. It would be nice if they were because then everything would bolt up nice and easy. I also know that the steering is completely different between the two does anyone have any thoughts about that. He got tired of snapping the Ford 9 inch center section so i reccomended that he go with the dana 60 cause i haven't busted mine yet. I shoulda kept my mouth shut cause i have no clue what i'm about to get myself into lol. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

i would say it can be done. if the leaf spring holes for the shakels arent there they could be drilled.
