coil spring and radius arm removal

Does anyone know the size of the bolt and nut that holds the coil spring and radius arm to the i beam on the front suspension?

i beleive i used a inch and a eigth or 1-1/8
I don't really care about brands Chevy Ford Dodge ...as long as it doesn't sound like two old dudes farting in a coffee can.

i only have one end wrench that size and no sockets. i have a very hard time getting that bolt most times. and sometimes not at all.

i use a wrench on top and a socket with impact on the bottem

steve nailed my plan right on the head. us a wrench on top ans a socket and impacton the bottom

you know they have two nuts on the king bolt. one is under the spring cup. the other is on top of the spring wirth the washer that holds the sping to the spring cup.

ok here is an up date on this. i have tried soaking, heating them up the nuts and they are extremely hard to get off. i know that i can use evapo rust to get the rust off but the angle of the i-beam and the radius arm its hard to get a good coverage for the evapo rust to work. does anyone have any other ideas. and b/c of the tighness of the rust i managed to break my closed face wrench that i had.

A smoke wrench works wonders on old i beams. Heat the nut up and only the nut you are having trouble with till it is cherry red and take an old candle and rub it against the bolt were the heat is. That wax will hopefuly get down into the nut making it easier to get off.
1968 swb hydroboost, ididit tilt column, Saginaw p/s pump with F series serpentine, all led lights, Vintage Air and painless wiring. 393w, tko600. CV front suspension w/c5 calipers and gt500 rotors. Stock Flexomatic leaf springs with 01 CV 8.8, 3.90 gears and Auburn locker. Custom wood bed floor. Full frame off resto-mod.

You might have to cut it off and get new bolts. When you have a stuck bolt like that your going to need a big f'n hammer, a long cheater pipe and a cutting torch.

I vote for a bigger cheater pipe, if not an impact. I try to avoid heating stuff with a torch.
I consider that only as a last resort. I never had any trouble with those when I did my 68,
but I forgot if they were just easy, or maybe I used a long pipe as a bar..
A long metal pipe for leverage is my usual tactic for something like that.
You might be surprised just how much more force you can get with the extra leverage.

ok here's an update on where i stand with taking apart the ibeams and radius arms. after several hours of soaking them with PB blaster and evapo rust and a broken finger(part of the territory when you are working on something you love) i got the drivers side completely taken apart and just waiting for the passenger side to finish soaking so that i can finish taking it apart.
