rack and pinion swap?
I have been thinking about doing a rack and pinion swap for a while. Any thoughts or concerns? I want to do this for driver side header clearance with my 351w. I have a rear mount on the crossmember manual rack I want to fab up and try out. Feedback would be nice.
1968 swb hydroboost, ididit tilt column, Saginaw p/s pump with F series serpentine, all led lights, Vintage Air and painless wiring. 393w, tko600. CV front suspension w/c5 calipers and gt500 rotors. Stock Flexomatic leaf springs with 01 CV 8.8, 3.90 gears and Auburn locker. Custom wood bed floor. Full frame off resto-mod.

you will have to get a center steer rack for this to work.
You may have a problem finding one that will have the correct angle
to meet up with your stock column.
I think this is doable with some fab work to bad I don't have a stock truck to try this on.
