Bendix- headers clerance

Post by hans »

Hello

I am about to convert to power steering on my 68 F100. I have read here that with the Bendix box there will be no room for headers. My car already have headers and there is plenty of clearance to the manual box.
I have also read on this site that the Bendix and manual box are similar in dimensions.

So, will the Bendix box fit?

It's not the length of the Bendix box that'll give you problems, it's the width. The Bendix box has a large protrusion on the site that the manual box doesn't have. I know some folks have been able to use it with headers, but it required beating up the tubes a bit for fit.
