Front swap on my 72

Post by Ritzman »

I got a 72 f-100 4x so I want disk brakes and power steering. I took a 79 bronco for a donor but I used a 78 150 power steering unit.It is not working any suggestions. Pittman arm?

It does not appear to work as turning left is ok but turning the wheels to the right I do not have the full extent. I kept the box tight ( to the springs ) so my arms are about the same as factory ( the angles ) to do this I used the shortest pittman arm I could find. Maybe one that drops so I can keep my angles but give me more distance. I guess what I really need is a push to get this project done. So I thought if I got some advice it would make me work on it harder as this trial and error ( mostly error ) method is going too slow.

you dont need to email your answer to members. it sounds like the box is out of travel and isnt centered when you put the pitman arm connection to the steering linkages. or the pitman arm is the wrong one like you were saying. i am new to the 4wd stuff. which pitman arm did you use? the one from the bronco box or one from something else? could you post a picture of before and after?
