On Overhaulin

Post by 19FORD67 »

I just saw a '65 get overhauled on TV and I noticed that Chip mounted the MC and booster on the frame under the cab, how is this possible and how do you put fluid in it?

I was unaware that the MC resevoir has to sit higher than the pistons unless you use a residual valve, thanks. How do the brakes actually apply pressure? Some kind of fancy shmancy brake lever that is Chip Foose?

I installed one of these on a streetrod I built a few years back.

To fill your reservoir, you either need an access plate in the floor or, like I did, put in a remote reservoir kit.

Looks pretty sharp, how do you keep from over filling? What about seeing the level?

Ah. Wasnt sure if there was fluid in there, it all makes perfect sense now :hd: I'm a little lost on how to get my brake pedal to the end of that bracket I'll bet that would be a fairly simple answer also, I like the idea of cleaning up the engine compartment and making more room. Maybe this mod is in my future, would be nice,...

Yup, it cleaned up the engine compartment for sure. When I bought this car the previous owner had mounted a booster and master cylinder on the fire wall, I just couldn't live with that.
