Hi guys,
I have been doing some research on upgrading my 68 F100 to disk brakes and power steering. From what I understand so far, I can use the old radius arms from my truck but if I swap to newer I-beams I need the spings and newer spindles as a package due to the kingpin size difference. This leads me to believe that it would be best to find a newer model truck and snag the I-beams, spindles, steering linkage, and power steering equipment all in one shot.
My question is twofold:
Can I swap front suspension with an F250, are there any advantages to this?
If I do swap to F250 parts, is the bolt pattern on the rotor different? Would I be able to use the F250 rotors, or would I need to get F100 rotors (and would they fit on an F250 spindle)?
Sorry if this is long and confusing.
Thanks.

You CAN use the front end off an F250, but you'll end up with 8 lug rotors. The rotors for an F100 will not fit an F250 spindle.
Just get the i-beams, radius arms, spindles, etc. from a disc brake equipped dentside, and bolt it all on. You will probably want to get the Pitman arm from the dent, as well.

Re: Another disk brake swap question
Thanks for the quick reply!
That's the exact info I was looking for. The reason I ask is because there have been several 70s F250s being parted out recently and I didn't know if the parts would swap over. I was hoping that the rotors could be changed and I could run everything else, but I guess not.

All right, second (or is it third) question......
Can you run dent F250 dual caliper pistons on the dent F100 brakes?

i don't know if they would bolt up to the caliper holders. i have thought of that myself. but i don't know. if you find out let me know. one thing you might be able to do is to get the f250 stuff except the spindle and rotor and put a f100 or f150 spindle and rotor on it. but i am unsure on that too.

Re: Another disk brake swap question
I guess while were on the topic, I did the deed and got a 79 front end. Since it was removed for me I didnt have the opportunity to know what went where before it was removed. My question is, now I have a proportioning valve but do not know what line connects to which port. Does anyone have a diagram or can help me identify the ports?

Nevermind. I found a pic on another forum post that identifies this.
