Removing steering brackets
I pulled the cotter pins and the nuts of off the steering linkages. I don't like to admit when I can't figure something out, but how do I get the linkages off the bolts. I pulled pretty hard and did a bit of banging, but I decided it would be better to get advise from experienced people.

Re: Removing steering brackets
There is a special tool. I think it is called a ball joint splitter. It is U shaped wedge you strike with a hammer to seperate the threaded part of the ball ftom the spindle arm or the drag link.
You can also use a pitman arm puller. It will be easier on the parts if you are going to reuse them.

Re: Removing steering brackets
I wasn't planning on reusing any of the bushings. I had a feeling that was what I needed. I will pick one up at harbor freight today. Thanks.
