I-Beam Pivot bushings

Anybody changed these out? Any tips?
2015 lifted Toyota tundra 4.6 4wd

Did this job tonight. It was a learning experience for sure. Made the truck drive like new.

Hi Mjhaltom,

I'm doing this to my truck currently also. I'm curious to hear more about what you noticed before and after installing the new bushings. What driving characteristics had improved?

Did you go for stock or performance bushings?

Any trouble tapping out the old ones? How about pressing in the new ones?

Before the swap, the truck would lurch hard to the right when entering a gentle right curve. This fixed that problem.

Drill out the rubber and collapse the metal outer sleeve in on itself with an air chisel so that it will pop out.

Coat the bushing with anti-seize lube and use washers and the original bolt and nut and a short piece of pipe (I used a cut down 2" PVC pipe fitting) on the back side to press the bushing in with the impact driver. Sandwich these items together. The large washer then the pipe ont he back side and another washer and the nut on the front. I found it impossible to hammer the bushing in with the beams still on the truck because you cant get a solid lick with the hammer.

I wouldn't have thought to put anti-sieze on the bushings; great idea.
