300 EFI PS Hose?

Post by FoMoCo »

Hey all, I orderd a PS hose for a plastic tank type ps pump for a mid 70's ford. It looks like it will be too short. My 300 EFI has the serpentine pump mounted much higher than the v-belt type, to accomodate the ac pump. What have people used for ps hoses for the EFI 300 in a 2WD?

I bought one for I think a 78 that was super long and had a long hard line. I bent it accordingly.

This was a case where rockauto.com and advance auto parts online site helped out because they had a picture and dimensions of the part. I bought this one by look only.

I toss the plastic pump in the trash and buy a replacement pump for a 90's 4.9 van. The vans used saginaw pumps. With that I use the power steering hose for an 85 E-250 with the 300 six.

If you need a longer hose than that (you shouldn't) the 460 van hose is a little longer and also used the saginaw pump.

All Ford PS box fittings are the same threads so in general buy the hose to fit the engine you have and it should work. Just be careful with the 87-91 or so hoses. They have a connection for a low pressure switch that makes them more expensive than the newer ones.
