Another Canuck with a truck!

Post by OldGuy »

Greetings everyone. Amazing site! Best one on the internet that I have found for my year of truck. 1971 F-100 Ranger long box 2wd.

Never been a truck guy really but need to learn more about them for my business so I thought I would start with an affordable classic and have some fun with it.

Looking to do wheels, tires of course but also thinking seriously about the DJM drop kit and some engine bits too.

Anyways, the truck is originally from Alberta so there is minimal rust and it makes a great staring point as it is a good daily driver too.

Here's some pics from my gallery.

I'm a Ford guy all the way....1998 Cobra + 2005 Ford 500 in the garage too.

Nice looking truck Gordo and welcome! Do you have a hood ornament or that just somethin resting on the blue beast? We love Fords around here, so when you get around to it, show us those other Fords you got in the garage! :D

That is definately a hood ornament. I just bought the truck last week, but I know enough to realize it's not stock but it has grown on me a bit.

Think it is from a 49-51 Mercury but not sure ....looks like the one found on this page:

Another warm welcome from California!

Congrats on finding a clean truck! Thats a real nice bumpside ya got there.

I'm with kaos - not usually a big fan of hood ornies, but what the heck - it definitely makes it unique.

To be honest, not a fan either but it was there when I bought the truck. It will have to go eventually but if I remove it now there will be a couple of nasty holes to fill.

Welcome from Idaho and sweet looking truck you have! She looks to be in great shape. I bought the DJM's too but have yet to install them  So many other things happening with my '69 right now. You definitely need to KEEP the ornament for a garage wall hanging. I have lots of obscure conversation pieces hanging in my garage! Anyway, good luck with the truck and have fun with it!
