Replacement Coil Springs???

Post by Mooosman »

Hi all,

I did the disc brake conversion on my 72 last August, and while I love the stopping power, the thing rides stiff as hell. We took all the parts off a 79 F-150 extended cab, and I'm thinking that it must've had a 460 or something in it, because these springs are stiff! My truck only has a 240 six, 3 speed manual, and manual steering and brakes. Basically no options. I was unable to use the original springs, because they were rusted up to the old I-beams.

I'm looking for some replacement coils now, and I have found that the parts companies only offer 1 replacement spring set for our trucks; I guess to cover everything up to big block. If I get that set, though, with no options on my truck, it's going to ride like an empty dump truck! I want the nice, soft ride it had before!

Any ideas where to look? I've tried all the normal parts houses, and rockauto.com, and they all just show the 1 Moog part number?

Nick,

I'd rather push a Ford than drive a Chevy!
