I took this off my 67--which has already been changed to Disc brakes---
will it work on my 70 when I switch(76 donor)it to disc--or do I use the
set-up out of the 76?
The brakes were workin when I towed it home--if thats anything. This came with the other parts I got with truck http://s267.photobucket.com/albums/ii304/67mann/parts/
Is It 67 only too? and is it possibly the one that was on it when it had drum brakes?
Craig---everythings for sale whats it worth---and this isn't when ya tell me nothin
well to tell if its a 67 booster the rod should be about 7 inches long coming out oof the back of the booster. to the end of the rod. the way to tell if it will hold vacuum is to suck on the hose from the booster hole. i just picked up a 73 booster that looks almost exactly like the one you have pics of but the rod is longer . but i havent measured how long yet.
Craig the smaller of the two(2nd post pics)is more like you decribed. The back of the other booster looks more like the one Keith posted http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... hp?t=31680 of a later model. When you say to suck on the booster---does the plunger move? is that how I will now it works? The plunger is around 7"
the rod that comes out of the back of the booster is attched to a diaprham inside the booster. when you put a sucking vacuum to the hose it will move the diapram. and you wont be able to suck any more air if the diaprham is good. i dont think the rod would move but it could. i havent seen the rod move when i have checked others that i have had. if you mean the plunger do you mean the rod out of the back of the booster. i think thats what you mean.
