Need pics of rear sway bar setups

Post by 390Nut »

With all this talk of swaybars I decided to pull the rear swaybar I got last year out of storage, and see if I can figure out how to mount it up. It's off a dent side, so I would likely need to fab some brackets for the links, (not to mention replacing all the bushings) but I need to see how a factory rear sway bar mounts up.

Anyone got any pics of a Camper Special or something that has a FACTORY rear sway bar? Dent or bump, it doesn't matter too much. Just need ideas.

I might be shooting in the breeze here, and just need to order a Hellwig. they're 1 1/8th inch, like the factory bars. Better than the Addco, and not too much more expensive.

Here's the hookup on a '70 F250:

Just keep in mind that most dentside swaybars won't fit, due to their being wider. I know...I've tried. If you could find one from a Highboy or F350 you'd be golden, though, since they share the same narrow frame-rail spacing as your truck.

I pulled a factory sway bar off of an F250 and the end links don't look anything like the ones in the picture.
