I have electric grinders & air,but with the projects coming up(2 bumps into one or 2 bumps back to life)soon I've been thinking a set of torches for the shop. Will they pay for themselves(both trucks have issues)or am I just tool
On a more serious note, they'll save you lots of time and sweat with a hacksaw. Just keep a source of water and a fire extinguisher handy (and know when to use which one!).
The torch is a great way to find the limit of rust. Just run the flame over a suspected area and if it's too far gone the metal sparkles and will vanish. I used that method on the cab corners and found some weak areas above where I planned on stopping (the rust was from the inside and I only saw a couple specks of surfase rust.) Same deal on the floor. Plus what the torch leaves is fit to weld to once cleaned up a little.
Plus what you save is saw blades will pay for the gas.
Some call it annoying. I call it subliminal messaging.
can anyone read this?
Yes.
(if you can't, hold down your left ctrl key and hit the + or - key on the number pad, or hold the left ctrl key and use your mouse wheel if you have one, to make the text larger or smaller on the screen. )
i thought it didnt work for me, but now all non-forum writing is as small as small gets and i can barely read anything! still trying to figure out how to get the writing back to regular size. whenever i try ctl and + , i goes to my "favorites" list on the internet.
