Body Trim

Post by Fordster »

I see an old post talking about applying trim using modern adhesives, and that the person who was going to try it would get back to the board after doing so, well no one ever replied. What ever happened, has anyone attempted to apply trim using anything other than the original installation method. I was thinking about doing this to a tailgate panel that has no holes.

Hey Fordster..

That was "farmtruckman" that was thinking about using 3m double stick foam tape...
It ended up not working because of the fact that the trim actually doesn't touch in the middle.
It's far enough away from the body that the tape didn't contact at all...
I think he decided to use the after market stock style ones...
I got some of those from a guy on ebay (florida fasteners I think they were called) they seem to work pretty well.

yea you cant do it. because there is not enough suface material to do it with on the panel . if you have your old tailgate try and measure the holes and drill new ones. if you dont have it. i can get some sort of measurements and or pics later in the week.
